Batik has become an icon of Indonesia in the eyes of the world, this is because UNESCO as a world body in the field of arts and culture has established Batik as an Intangible CULTURAL HERITAGE. We should be proud enough that as citizens and people of Indonesia, our nation can contribute cultural heritage to the international world.
Now batik is back into a "trend" and growing massively in Indonesia. If previously batik was synonymous with something ancient, now the condition is reversed. Batik is now a product that is favored by all people, from children to adults.
In line with the concept of sustainable development and the use of environmentally friendly products, batik has begun to utilize sources of natural dyes, even natural fibers derived from plants in Indonesia.
The use of batik made from natural fibers and dyes is proof of marriage and the use of biodiversity which will have an impact on the preservation of biodiversity and the economic income of the Indonesian people.
